STEAM Cycle 28

3/2/2017

Between planned meetings that took me out of the classroom to being wiped out with bronchitis, the students had some guest teacher time.  STEAM was still at the center of our activities, but we took a break from our PLTW curriculum.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade-STEAM Bins

Using the STEAM Bins and task cards, the students created structures using the materials found in the bins.  Each group of students had a bin that included materials like pipe cleaners, dominoes, Play-Doh, craft sticks, paper cards, base-ten blocks, tangrams, Unifix cubes, and Legos to explore and create.

2nd-5th Grade-Keyboarding

The students used online typing games to practice their keyboarding skills.  The 2nd grade students accessed the STEAM Studio website to choose the game and the 3rd-5th graders played Nitrotype.
